It seems Ex-Arsenal Captain William Gallas is going to be having a medical at Tottenham Hotspur some time today. Tottenham fans may not react well to this or they may well see it as some revenge as they still have the bitter taste in their mouths after Sol Campbell left them for Arsenal 9 years ago.
But apart from it being a free transfer there are a few differences here. Sol Campbell decided to leave Tottenham to join Arsenal where he went on to win the Premiership Title and FA Cup in his first season, He also won another Premiership title and two more FA Cups. Campbell also left Tottenham in his prime, where as on William Gallas has left Arsenal after they only offered him a one-year deal, as Arsene Wenger doesn’t offer long-term deals to players over thirty, and when his contract ran out was released. But though Gallas is nearing the end of his career he would act as great cover for the unfortunately injury prone Ledley King.
But Harry Redknapp is playing the situation down says to sky sports “He’s been an Arsenal player but he was at Chelsea before that and playing abroad before he arrived there.” adding “It’s not like we would be signing Tony Adams. He’s a good player and he would be a very useful addition to our squad.”
But if william Gallas does sign for Tottenham it will defiantly add spice to an already heated derby day when the two teams meet on November 21st at the Emirates Stadium.
