New boys Tottenham Hotspur have been drawn in Group A with Serie A and Current Champions League winners Inter Milan, Dutch Champions FC Twente and Greman side Werder Bremen who finished 3rd in the Bundesliga last season. With Rafa Benitez in charge at Inter, it will give them an advantage with Benitez having faced them over the years with Liverpool And going up against Champions of any league is never going to be easy and the Dutch Champions will cause Tottenham problems. Werder Bremen are not new to the champions league either and over the past years have been constant contenders in the Bundesliga.
Manchester United have been drawn in group c and they have been drawn against Valencia, Rangers & Bursapor. So the battle of britain is on with Manchester United going up against Glasgow Rangers which with the history the tie has it will undoubtably be a heated and enjoyable match for the fans. Valencia are a depleted side with the sale of Nikola Zigic, David Silva and David Villa but with the Portuguese Defender Ricardo Costa, Strikers Roberto Soldado and Artis Aduriz and Midfielder Sofiane Feghouli coming in there is still talent at the club to cause a problem. Manchester United will face the unknown when they travel to turkey to face Bursaspor. The club was only formed in 1963 and this is their first time in the Champions League as it was the first time the club finished in the top 3 when they won the championship last season.
In Group F Chelsea are up against Slovakian new boys Zilina, Russian Side Spartak Moscow, and French side Marseille. Zilina have a lot of european experience but this is the first time they have qualified for the Group stage so are going to enjoy they time and the games and could always cause an upset. Going to Moscow is never easy and the travel isn’t the best thing to have to deal with when you will have a game three days later and Marseille Won Ligue 1 and have bolstered their attack with Pierre André Gignac and Loïc Remy who had a summer transfer battle for his signature. With Drogba heading back to his former club it’s bound to be an interesting match.
Group H has Arsenal, Braga who came 2nd in the Portuguese Liga, Serbian champions Partizan Belgrade and Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk. Edurado is up against former club Arsenal where he will get a good reception unless of course he scores and runs the pitch to slide on his knees over to the Arsenal fans, as that never goes down well. Arsenal had a tough time against Shakhtar before and champions of any league will always give a stiff test to any team.
