GK -Ben Foster, Joe Hart, David Stockdale

DF -Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, John Terry, Kyle Walker

MF – Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, Ashley Young

FW – Gabriel Agbonlahor, Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney

First call ups for David Stockdale & Kyle Walker, while Cahill gets another call up as does Bent and Agbonlahor. Leighton Baines gets another chance to prove himself at the international level. Scott Parker gets a well deserved call up, and it would be nice to see him start in midfield rather than Gerrard or Lampard, and it will be intresting to see how young Wilshire will do if he gets any playing time.

I’d like Capello to use this to see how an England team would be without Terry, Cole, Gerrard and Lampard. This would be my starting XI for this game.

..Johnson…Dawson..Cahill Baines.

How would you line them up?

  1. World class defenders are never in short supply for England & the young midfield players selected for next weeks match are talented enough to carry the national side forward, but again its disappointing to see the same out of form forwards being called up. When will the next generation of strikers get their time to shine? Our current talisman frankly couldn’t of done worse at last summers world cup and hasn’t shown much in the way of goal scoring form since. The future seems bleak for English forwards, not for a of talent, but opportunity.

    • I agree that Rooney just isnt the player he was a few years ago and last World Cup he was terrible. But talent doesnt go but form does, if he can get that form back he will be a threat to any team. But what english strikers are tehre out there at the moment. it seems back in the early 2000’s we had loads to choose from but now, there is only a handful… so how what would be your England line up?
