Wolfsburg have sacked Steve McClaren after only a few months ago giving him a vote of confidence, obviously their confidence was only good for so long.
McClaren’s managerial career has been very up and down. While at Middlesbrough he had them in Europe with a good league position, but with England he was unable to get them qualification to the European Championships, and being remembered for standing under his umbrella that faithful rainy night. But then with FC Twente he restored some of his credibility winning the dutch league. In his first season they were runners-up and in his second season they won it, FC Twente’s first ever Championship. But when he moved on for bigger and better things, he didn’t find them with Wolfsburg.
Does this mean that he may look for a return to the Premiership with the vacant job at West Brom, or will he wait for a better prospect. More importantly with his unsuccessful term at German outfit Wolfsburg, will a Premiership club want him? Or he may want to try his hand at another club in another new country?
