After only nearly six weeks after being relieved of his duties at Liverpool he has been named new manager at West Brom. It comes as a bit of a surprise as he had said that he didn’t want a quick return to management and it was rumored that ex-Newcastle manager Chris Houghton was being lined up.
Hodgson said that because of the Chairman’s and Sporting Director’s vision and plans for the club made West Brom a very interesting proposal
On his appointment as manager Hodgson said, “It was not my intention to return to Barclays Premier League football this quickly,” said Hodgson.
“But I was so impressed by the way the chairman [Jeremy Peace] and the sporting and technical director [Dan Ashworth] sold the project to me that I was very happy to accept the offer.
“I am delighted that a club of West Bromwich Albion’s stature has given me the opportunity to help them in their quest to retain their Premier League status and to build for the future.”
Babies fans will be hoping that Hodgson can recreate his success at Fulham and bot his torrid time at Liverpool.
