The F.A Cup Final saw the duel of Money Vs. Heart take place with the Money winning. But even though the club may now be one of the richest in the world and have spent hundred of millions on players the fans are still the same, and for them this win is hopefully a taste of what is to come.

It may have been forgotten that the last trophy they won was the First Division Championship to win promotion into the Premiership. Before that were two league cup win in 1970 & 1976 and had not won the F.A Cup since 1969 so for the fans and the club it has been a long time in waiting.

And you could see what it meant to the players, with Stoke’s last chance attack from a corner fizzling out, Joe Hart was punching the air in anticipated celebration. No doubt Stoke as a club and the fans alike will be devastated at not winning their first F.A Cup. The joy of reaching their first ever F.A Cup final only lasted 90 minutes before that bitter taste of disappointment, but in the end the best team won.

The game between Manchester City and Stoke was not the best F.A Cup final ever, but it wasn’t the worst. Manchester City did more to deserve the win, and with Mario Balotelli picking up the Man of the Match award too. It was his nice flick on that helped the move continue that lead to the goal. David Silva started the move passing to Balotelli who controlled it and the back heeled it to the on running Silva. Silva pulled it back for Balotelli who shot and as the ball ricocheted around in was the marauding Yaya Toure who smashed it home

Stoke had their chances, with to Kenwyne Jones was denied by the on rushing Joe Hart. But in the end they were unable to do any damage and City were the eventual winners. The celebrations by the players just showed what it meant to them. They may have cost millions, but they were paid to do a job, and that is winning football games. They were just as happy as any other play that just won a cup. Some players have been at City before the Sheik bought them, one of them being Micah Richards.

This F.A Cup win meant a lot to him saying “It’s unbelievable really, words can’t describe it, we’ve worked hard all season, and we’ve won it, look at the fans they have been their since day one. I just cant believe it, it its unbelievable”  With Adam Johnson adding “Its the biggest club competition in the world, and we’ve won it today and look at the faces on the fans, 35 years of waiting for it”

When asked on how it felt to score the winning goal in front of the City fans Yaya Toure answered “I don’t know how to explain that its fantastic 35 years, I think it’s amazing we have come and made history at the club now, we are so happy, so proud of what we are doing this season especially this night”

Roberto Mancini having won 7 titles in Italy, 4 Scudetto’s with Inter and 3 Coppa Italia’s with Fiorentina, Lazio and Inter Milan, and on winning his first F.A Cup he had to say ” We have a good squad, a young squad and he have won this important trophy now I am happy for our supports happy for the club, because I think all at the club deserve to win this trophy

A well done to Manchester City and congratulations to the fans.
