Allardyce was manager at Bolton Wanderers for 7 years and during 5 of those years Kevin Nolan was at the club.
Nolan was a key player for Allardyce’s Bolton team and will get goals for West Ham having scored 12 last season for Newcastle, and goals are something West Ham had trouble scoring last season.
He had a good relationship with both Tiote and Joey Barton, and if Scott Parker and Mark Noble stay they would help form a very formidable midfield that could boss the middle of the park against many of Championship Sides, and maybe that will keep Parker and Co. at West Ham to get them back into the Premiership next season. Though this does seem to be a possible replacement for Parker.
There have also been rumours linking Demba Ba to Newcastle and with the Nolan transfer maybe it is a bit of a tactical one on the part of Mike Ashley. Ba is currently on holiday, so when he gets back it will be interesting to see if he is landing in London or Newcastle.
West Ham have stated that they are looking to make two Premiership proven signing’s in the next 24 hours, so with Kevin Nolan known as one, it will be very interesting to see who the other is going to be.
West Ham have already signed Abdoulaye Faye on a free transfer, and with West Ham having said that they intend to make seven signings, Faye and Nolan are two, with a third supposedly coming soon, West Ham fans may have less to worry about than they thought would do a month ago.
