With The arrival of Sheikh Al Thani, the future of Malaga football club looks to be on the up. With Manuel Pellegrini in charge and money not an issue Malaga could be a club to watch for next season as they look to join the elite clubs in La Liga, and have already started to bring in the big names to make the dream a reality.
Manuel Pellegrini is an experienced manager having managed Villarreal and Real Madrid and after his appointment last season Malaga finished 11th after a great finish to the season. The signing of Julio Baptista was an inspired one as the Brazilian contributed 9 goals in 11 games for Malaga. Enzo Maresca and Martin Demichelis also joined Malaga in the January transfer window.
So far this season Malaga have signed up veteran goal scorer Ruud Van Nistelrooy, French defensive midfielder Jérémy Toulalan from Lyon, Dutch defender Juries Mathijsen from Hamburg, Argentine playmaker Diego Buonanotte from River Plate, Winger Joaquín from Valencia and left back Nacho Monreal from Osasuna.
No doubt with these signings and the previous signings, Malaga are looking to gain European Qualification this season, and then look to build on the squad again, and then push for possible Champions League Qualification the following season.
And with the transfer market just getting into full swing, Malaga are sure to still be bringing in the best players they can and the future looks bright for the coastal club.
