Stuart Pearce has named his Great Britain team to go to the Olympics picking 13 English players and 5 Welsh with four from clubs in the Championship with the rest plying their trade in the Premiership.

From the players picked I would assume that he is going to go for a 4-3-3 formation looking to utilize the speed of Sinclair, Sturridge and Bellamy with an all Welsh midfield of Allen, Ramsey and Giggs to support and supply the forwards. In defence I can see Richards at right back, Bertrand left back and Caulker and either Tompkins or Taylor with Butland in goal.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Ryan Giggs named a captain also.

I am surprised at the exclusion of a few players, now if they are injured and I am wrong then please accept my apology now. Players such as Josh McEachran, Henri Lansbury, Martin Kelly, Kirean Gibbs, Nathaniel Clyne, Wilifred Zaha and Marc Albrighton I though could have got into the squad, which in my opinion, would have meant Richards wouldn’t have been included and meaning Beckham would have been.

None-the-less F00tballmatters wishes Team GB all the best of luck ahead of the Olympic Games
