It has been no secret that the Bianconeri have been in the hunt for a striker and have been fighting it out with Arsenal to sign Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, but when he was too much, it seems they quickly swept in for fellow Argentine striker Carlos Tevez.

With the speed of which the deal happened, it seems to me that this was something that was in the pipeline at the same time as Higuain. It would seem that now it leaves it open for Arsenal to sign Higuain, but things with Arsenal are never that simple.

Tevez has been bestowed the honour of the No.10 shirt. Personally I would have liked Juventus to retire the number when Del Piero left the club, but hey ho.

At 29, Juventus haven’t signed Tevez for the future. He has been signed to make an immediate impact. Last season Juve won Serie A with two players joined highest scorer with only 10 goals. An accomplishment all of its own, but now with added fire power, Juve are going to be an even more frightening prospect, and will be hoping to do better in Europe this time round.

Tevez may have off the field issues from time to time. His time at Manchester City was tainted with the misunderstandings and childish sulks, but he played more games and scored more goals for City than he has for any other team he has played for.

Now if Juve can keep him happy then there is no telling how many goals he could score for the club. At around £10 million this is a great buy.

With the Free signing of Fernando Llorente and now the signing of Tevez it would seem that the Old Lady have addressed the issues of goals. It’s an exciting time to be a Bianconeri fan.
